Mental Health programs specifically designed for you.
At Dunwoody Behavioral Health Center, treatment begins with a full evaluation of the person’s history, current mental health, and safety concerns. After this evaluation, a mental health professional will recommend the appropriate level of care. We offer the most effective evidence-based mental health programs in Atlanta, Georgia, and tailor our programs to the individual, with recovery and support in mind.
Our residential treatment program allows the time, space, and support needed for clients to recover from a mental health crisis. Our inpatient mental health facilities can help you recover safely and effectively without fear of triggers or relapse. Within this program, clients learn how to manage their diagnoses and the skills to cultivate long-term mental wellness. We are one of the most comprehensive residential mental health facilities in Georgia.
Our mental health alumni groups meet regularly to celebrate successes and discuss any challenges they may be facing after their time at our recovery facility. At Dunwoody Behavioral Health Center, we know maintaining good mental health is a lifelong commitment for everyone, and we provide a safe environment and a lasting community to support you as you navigate life post-treatment.
Our family programs are services available to families of mental health clients that may consist of counseling, therapy, and group discussions. The goal is to strengthen relationships among family members through effective communication and mutual respect. Not every mental health treatment facility offers family programs, but they can be incredibly beneficial for family members and clients. We believe the families and significant others of our clients must also have their needs met so our treatment is truly comprehensive.
Unlike a hospital, our residential treatment program is unlocked and voluntary. Residential treatment usually is the best level of care for individuals leaving a hospital or acute care facility. The average length of stay for residential is 4-6 weeks before stepping down to a PHP or IOP. Group hours are approximately eight hours during the day for psychiatric and therapeutic sessions.
We accept a variety of insurance plans to help cover the cost of your treatment. To ensure that your specific plan is accepted and to understand the coverage details, please contact our admissions team or submit an insurance verification form. Our team is available to assist you with insurance verification and can answer any questions you may have about coverage, out-of-pocket costs, and available payment options.
Absolutely! While in our program you will be assigned a therapist and a psychiatrist but we can involve your current therapist/psychiatrist to assist and ensure you are receiving the best possible care.
Inpatient treatment is provided in a hospital setting for acute psychiatric stabilization and typically involves short stays focused on crisis management. Residential treatment, on the other hand, offers a longer-term solution in a home-like environment, where individuals can participate in comprehensive therapy programs and focus on deeper, long-term recovery with continuous support from a multidisciplinary team. If you have specific questions, reach out to our admissions team!
